E-mail Programs
There are a number of
different e-mail programs that you can use with your Xplornet service.
Listed below are some of the more frequently used e-mail programs.
Simply click on one of the links below and you’ll be taken to a page
that contains detailed instructions on how to setup your e-mail program.
If the e-mail program you’d like to use doesn’t appear in this list
please contact your local computer service store or contact Xplornet’s
Customer Care Center at
support@xplornet.com or
1-866-841-6001 to guide you through your e-mail configuration.
Although the
instructional screen shots may not be identical to yours, it should be
close enough to guide you through the setup of your e-mail program.
Outlook 2002 - 2003
1) On the Tools
menu, click Email Accounts

2) Click Add New
email account. Click Next.

3) Click POP3. Click
Next.

4) In the Your
Name box, type the name you would like others to see when they
receive messages from you.
5) In the Email
Address box, type your complete email address.
6) In the User
Name box, type the part of your email address that comes before the
at sign (@).
7) In the
Password box, type your email address password.
8) In the Incoming
mail field type incoming.xplornet.com and in the Outgoing mail
field type smtp.xplornet.com Click Next.

9) Click Finish
Now you are ready to
send and receive email from your Xplornet email account!
Outlook Express
1) On the Tools
menu, click Accounts

2) Click Add, then
click Mail

3) In the Display
Name box, type the name that you would like others to see when they
receive messages from you. Click Next.

4) In the Email
Address box, type your complete email address. Click Next.

5) In the Incoming
mail field type incoming.xplornet.com and in the Outgoing mail
field type smtp.xplornet.com Click Next.

6) In the Account
Name box, type your xplornet.com username. This is the part of your
email address that comes before the at sign (@). In the Password box,
type your email address password. Click Next.

7) Click Next. Click
Finish.
Now you are ready to
send and receive email from your Xplornet email account!
Eudora
1) In Eudora, go to
the Tools menu and select Options.

2) In the Options
window you will see several icons on the left. Select Getting Started.

3) In the Real Name
field, type your name the way you would like people to see it when they
get email from you. For example: John Doe

4) In the Return
Address field, enter your email address. For example
johndoe@xplornet.com

5) In the Mail
Service (Incoming) field, enter incoming.xplornet.com

6) In the User Name
field, enter your user name (the part of your email address that is
before @xplornet.com) For example, if your email address is
johndoe@xplornet.com your User Name is johndoe

7) In the SMPT
Service (Outgoing) field, enter smpt.xplornet.com

8) Make sure there
is a checkmark in the Allow Authentication field.

9) Click OK.
Now you are ready to
send and receive email from your Xplornet email account!
Administration Page
To access the
administration page for your account simply visit
http://www.xplornet.com/webmail.asp?lang=EN
and click on ‘Administration’. The administration page gives you access
to or the ability to change the following:
» Check
usage/mailbox space used
» Change mail settings - forward
mail to, absence message
» Change your password*
» Access an external mail manager
When you get to the
administration page you’ll be prompted to provide your username and
password, which should have been provided to you at the time of
installation. If you don’t have your username and password please
contact Xplornet’s customer care center at 1-866-841-6001 and we’ll
provide it to you.

forgotten your password or require assistance with your e-mail account,
please contact us at

* Please be advised,
if you choose to change your password using the administration page you
must also reconfigure the mail settings of your e-mail program.
Important E-mail
Information
Regardless of the
e-mail program you use you’ll need to know the following information:
Incoming Mail (POP3)
- incoming.xplornet.com
Outgoing Mail (smtp) - smtp.xplornet.com
Username - as
assigned by Xplornet
Password - as assigned by Xplornet
Authentication -
Check box for "My outgoing server (smtp) requires authentication"
How to add
additional e-mail accounts
If you’d like to add
additional e-mail accounts, please contact our customer care centre at
support@xplornet.com or
1-866-841-6001.
Webmail
Xplornet allows you
to connect to your e-mail from any Internet connection, anywhere in the
world using our Webmail service. And best of all, the Webmail service is
included in your monthly service fee – so there’s no added cost to you.
With Webmail you can
send and receive e-mail, update your address book add / delete
appointments from your calendar and organize your e-mail messages. Plus,
Xplornet gives you the freedom to manage your own e-mail account. You
can change your password, create an extended absence greeting or check
your account usage.
How to access
your Webmail account
To access your
Xplornet Webmail account, simply visit
http://webmail.xplornet.com. At
the sign-in screen you’ll be prompted to provide your Webmail username
and password.
Your username should
be the first part of your e-mail address. (i.e. johndoe@xplornet.com;
username would be johndoe)
Your password should
have been provided to you at the time of installation. If you lose or
have forgotten your password please contact Xplornet’s Customer Care
Centre at
support@xplornet.com or
1-866-841-6001.
